Bittensor Daily — September 20, 2026

NEAR AI has integrated with the say_gm_ subnet, which one ecosystem account is calling Bittensor's answer to OpenRouter. Score (SN44), the PwC-linked computer-vision subnet, is now using Hippius (SN75) for storage — an early example of subnets combining to cut costs. Elsewhere: three fee changes in one day confused taostats users, and a deregistered subnet operator has taken their dispute to court.

Subnets start stacking

NEAR AI announced an integration with say_gm_, with an ecosystem account framing the subnet as Bittensor's version of OpenRouter. Separately, Score (SN44) — the computer-vision subnet whose output PwC distributes — began routing its storage needs through Hippius (SN75). An ecosystem account pointed to the SN44/SN75 pairing as a template for how subnets can stack services to multiply cost savings rather than building everything in-house. A related post benchmarked robot-arm control models, including one called Jev from a Bittensor-affiliated team, against GPT-6 Astra and GPT-4.1 mini in a simulated task.

EXPLOIT conference teased as a turning point

Mark Jeffrey said the EXPLOIT Bittensor conference, about a week and a half out, will carry 'significant' subnet announcements backed by real customer traction and revenue — not just roadmap talk. On the awareness side, a recent Bittensor Bungalow X Space aimed at newcomers got clipped and reshared by Altcoin Daily to its 2.5 million followers.

Fee estimates whipsaw taostats

On-chain transaction fees changed three times inside 24 hours, and the shifts left taostats displaying fee estimates that users flagged as inconsistent or inflated. A team member said the correct figures would be confirmed once the developer responsible returned from the weekend. Separately, a user hit a 'TooManyStakingHotkeys' error while trying to unstake and was pointed to the official error documentation.

04 / DAILY

Deregistration dispute and a fake CoinGecko listing

An ecosystem account amplified a report that a subnet operator, deregistered after their subnet fell to the bottom of the leaderboard, was unable to reclaim the registration following a protocol update — and has since filed a lawsuit against those behind that update. Separately, community members flagged that CoinGecko lists a TAO contract address on another chain, even though TAO has no contract address at all, and said they're pushing to get the listing taken down.
