Bittensor Daily — September 17, 2026

Bittensor shipped a live USDC-to-dTAO crosschain swap today, letting users move between USDC, ETH, and subnet tokens in seconds without touching a bridge. SN80 became the first subnet token tradable on Base, no Bittensor wallet required. Meanwhile, fresh emissions data has the community comparing today's subnet landscape to the pre-dTAO era.

Crosschain Swaps Go Live, SN80 Lands on Base

A new USDC-to-dTAO crosschain swap feature went live, enabling direct swaps from subnet tokens into USDC or ETH and back. Community members called it fast and seamless, describing it as an intents-based protocol -- not a bridge -- built over roughly a year. SN80 (OpenRoboto), which is building an open-source humanoid AI brain, became the first subnet token available for trading on Base without needing a Bittensor wallet, following earlier subnet token availability on Base through another platform. One community member demonstrated the new flow by buying SN3 (Teutonic) tokens directly with USDC on Ethereum.

Emissions Data Sparks 'Pre-dTAO' Comparisons

Community members shared 24-hour emissions stats showing a heavily skewed distribution: 40 subnets earned 0 TAO, 12 earned between 0 and 0.1 TAO, 17 earned between 0.1 and 1 TAO, and 17 earned between 1 and 4.5 TAO (roughly $1,000). On the other end, 41 subnets pulled in more than $1,000 per day while 86 stayed below that mark. One community member said the spread feels close to conditions before dTAO emissions rolled out across all subnets, and others debated whether some low-activity subnets are still drawing meaningful emissions despite little visible work.

On the Radar: SN53 and SN55

A community member flagged a 1,430 TAO (~$322k) buy on SN53. Separately, @YumaGroup spotlighted SN55 (Niome), which generates synthetic DNA data on Bittensor.
